The most successful businesses build systems to capture leads, support their customers, and manage the entire marketing funnel. GoHighLevel and Kajabi help you do just that. One of their biggest differences is their target audiences — service-based or product-based businesses.

GoHighLevel is designed for service-based businesses and marketing agencies that need an all-in-one platform to manage their clients, generate leads, and automate sales. With its CRM tools, sales funnel builder, and advanced automation capabilities, GoHighLevel supports businesses that need lead generation features to nurture client relationships at scale. However, it isn’t a great fit for educators and creators who want to run a knowledge-based business by selling digital products.

On the other hand, Kajabi is best suited for product-based businesses — especially for digital creators, coaches, and educators. Its user-friendly website builder, powerful course creation tools, and integrated marketing features like CRM and email marketing, allow you to seamlessly build, host, and sell digital products like online courses, podcasts, and memberships. However, its lead generation and business management capabilities aren’t as developed as GoHighLevel’s.

I spent the last three weeks testing and comparing GoHighLevel vs Kajabi in key areas like:

  • Website and Funnel Building
  • Product and Service Delivery
  • Marketing and Automation
  • Reporting and Analytics
  • Pricing

Let’s start with a brief overview of how they compare.

What is GoHighLevel?
“A digital marketing powerhouse”

GoHighLevel was founded in 2018 by Shaun Clark, Robin Alex, and Varun Vairavan. They saw a gap in the marketing industry — marketing agencies were overwhelmed with managing multiple digital marketing tools, which caused them to lose leads along the funnel because of bad customer experiences.

Launched to simplify the complexities of digital marketing, GoHighLevel offers a wide range of features for lead generation, customer relationship management, sales and marketing automation, and analytics. These features include automated booking/appointment scheduling, website building, multi-channel marketing campaigns and communication, and pipeline management. Most importantly, it aims to continue expanding its capabilities by integrating more advanced features and tools based on user feedback and industry dynamics.

GoHighLevel’s ideal audience includes digital marketing agencies, consultants, and service-based businesses that prioritize client relationships and need an all-in-one platform to scale their growth.

What is Kajabi?
“Where creators turn passion into profit”

Kajabi was founded in 2010 by Kenny Rueter and Travis Rosser because of the challenges they experienced when using multiple platforms to create, market, and sell their knowledge online. The platform was designed with the vision of empowering creators and entrepreneurs to share their knowledge and monetize their content online.

Kajabi has an AI-powered course and website builder that makes it easy for you to create digital products. It also provides marketing tools to help you sell products and engage your audience, and analytics and reporting tools to view the performance of your digital products. Its CRM features, promotional tools like affiliate marketing, and native email automation make it a great tool to start and scale your digital business.

Kajabi is ideal for digital product creators and educators who want to monetize their knowledge and need a single platform to help them build and sell online courses, podcasts, coaching services, communities, or memberships.

GoHighLevel vs Kajabi: Website & Funnel Building

Kajabi’s website- and funnel-building features are more intuitive and user-friendly, while GoHighLevel’s include more advanced customization options.

A) Website Building Capabilities: GoHighLevel allows advanced customization like padding and separate mobile and desktop views while Kajabi shines with a user-friendly interface.

GoHighLevelKajabi
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Both platforms have a drag-and-drop editor to build custom landing pages and full websites with basic elements like text, forms, and buttons. You can also customize page layouts, integrate interactive elements like media, and add custom code elements. However, when I tested both landing page builders, I noticed they were designed for different goals.

GoHighLevel’s website builder primarily targets marketing agencies and focuses on results-driven design rather than aesthetics. It has over 170 website templates for different industries and also allows you to create custom pages from scratch. What’s more, you can add elements like surveys, forms, videos, and booking calendars, integrate your landing page with an already-existing website, or create standalone pages.

Video▶ Watch video (opens YouTube / video provider)

However, I found the themes to have a more outdated feel, and design freedom is somewhat limited without custom CSS code. The interface feels more functional than visually appealing. You can also create duplicate pages and sections — which can save you time when you need to create multiple pages with the same layout.

Meanwhile, Kajabi’s website builder has a more modern feel.

It also has a drag-and-drop builder that allows you to change the layout of the website, include elements like buttons, and customize it with color adjustments, font sizes, and menu alignment. Compared to GoHighLevel, Kajabi’s customization is more basic with fewer templates to choose from — over 70 templates of which only 11 are free. However, the themes feel fresh and easily adjustable to suit your specific needs.

Video▶ Watch video (opens YouTube / video provider)

Kajabi’s editor has a user interface that is intuitive and designed with content creators in mind. I found the setup process easy to follow and very accessible to educators who don’t have a technical or coding background. To design a website, all you need to do is select a template, delete and add pages, or customize it to match your needs.

Although both platforms allow you to build mobile responsive websites, they take different approaches. With GoHighLevel, you can create different variations of the same page for desktop and mobile views. For example, you can change text, border padding, and even font color for each device.

On the other hand, Kajabi’s page builder has a mobile, tablet, and desktop visualizer that allows you to preview and edit your website to fit all the devices before it goes live. This feature makes it easy for educators to create consistent branding across multiple devices and engage their customers across multiple devices.

B) Sales Funnel Features: Both platforms have an intuitive funnel builder but GoHighLevel has a more comprehensive, multi-level tracking capability.

GoHighLevelKajabi
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Both platforms allow businesses and creators to build simple, effective sales funnels that capture leads and guide customers on their journey. However, their differences lie in how those funnels allow you to activate the customer journey to make more sales.

What sets GoHighLevel apart:

  • You can either host your funnels directly on the platform or use the LeadConnector plugin to embed funnel pages on your WordPress website.
  • It provides a multi-channel system for you to connect with leads via phone calls, voicemail, SMS/MMS, emails, and Facebook Messenger.
  • You can use a mobile app to communicate and interact with leads no matter where you are.
  • It supports advanced lead tracking features.

For example, you can measure the response rates from emails/SMS marketing, collect customer details at every step of their journey, and even create pie chart visualizations. With GoHighLevel, you can customize the sections, rows, columns, and versions of the funnels you build (1). You can also include customizable elements like pop-ups, forms, and countdown timers, in all your sales funnels to maximize conversion and lead generation (2).

Meanwhile, Kajabi’s funnel-building process is slightly different.

Kajabi’s Funnels are made with product sales in mind rather than multi-industry conversions. It comes with over 70 pre-built funnel templates to create sales pages, opt-ins, and follow-up emails all in a single platform.

Video▶ Watch video (opens YouTube / video provider)

While Kajabi’s channel automation options aren’t as extensive as GoHighLevel’s, its intuitive funnel builder makes Kajabi a solid choice for creators who don’t need complex funnels and want to focus on sales and product promotions.

Kajabi also offers unique A/B test metrics that can help you optimize funnels and increase campaign ROIs. Some of the page elements that you can test include:

  • Call-to-actions: Button appearance, placement, and text.
  • Copy and tone: Language, body content, subject lines, and preview lines.
  • Imagery: Videos, testimonials, and images.
  • Branding: Logos, colors, and email design.

Website & Funnel Building Winner: Kajabi takes the lead with its easy-to-use website and funnel builder that allows you to create diverse websites and funnels without any technical assistance. Although GoHighLevel is not intuitive, it offers more customization and tracking options for advanced marketing setups.

Create your online presence and monetize your knowledge with Kajabi!

GoHighLevel vs Kajabi: Product & Service Delivery

Unlike GoHighLevel, Kajabi allows creators to build, market, and scale their digital products while retaining full ownership and revenue.

A) Digital Product Management: Kajabi is better suited for creating, managing, and marketing digital products.

GoHighLevelKajabi
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Although GoHighLevel is primarily built for service-based businesses that rely heavily on lead generation and conversion, you can still build full courses (free or paid) for yourself or clients with unlimited video hosting and unlimited users.

However, the platform doesn’t take a dedicated course creation approach.

To build a digital product, you have to select a specific course funnel like sprint, marathon, membership sites, or a custom product. Then you go ahead to add/remove pages, upload already-created materials, and then create custom offers for that course. You can also create membership sites to share exclusive content with a closed group.

Even though the platform supports digital downloads, its interface for managing these assets isn’t intuitive.

Then there’s Kajabi. It takes a different approach with dedicated building tools that allow you to create and host all your digital products.

Unlike GoHighLevel where you need to separately upload course assets like videos and PDFs, Kajabi provides dedicated builders you can use to:

Each digital product builder is intuitive and you can use an AI assistant to create some of the content.

The great part about Kajabi is that creators reap all the rewards from their products and don’t need to share the profit. Plus, they own all the digital products created on their account, so no need to worry much about intellectual property when it comes to selling certain products such as templates.

Both GoHighLevel and Kajabi excel in content protection. They have built-in features that restrict access based on client status, subscription plan, and membership access.

B) Service Business Tools: GoHighLevel better supports service-based businesses.

GoHighLevelKajabi
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

When it comes to service business tools, GoHighLevel really does the job for me. For example, the appointment scheduling feature integrates seamlessly with your calendar and allows your clients to book appointments without back-and-forth communication.

GoHighLevel’s automated workflows are also particularly impressive as they allow you to set up AI conversational appointments, automated emails, SMS/call reminders, and follow-ups based on the client’s stage in the sales funnel. You can use the campaign builder to customize your text messages, making it especially useful to agencies that rely on client interactions and need to streamline their workflow.

I also found that GoHighLevel provides a detailed overview of client interactions, allowing me to track communication history and manage follow-ups effectively. The platform’s CRM capabilities go beyond simple client management and allow for advanced segmentation, which is crucial for targeting specific client needs.

Video▶ Watch video (opens YouTube / video provider)

While Kajabi does have some tools for service delivery, its focus is primarily on digital product management. It offers basic appointment scheduling through third-party integrations, but it doesn’t have the same depth of customization as GoHighLevel.

Kajabi also offers automation features, primarily focused on tasks connected to the specific product. For example, you can set triggers for every part of the course the client interacts with, including certificates, forms, and quizzes.

Product & Service Delivery Winner: Kajabi is a better option if your primary focus is building and selling digital products, while GoHighLevel is best for nurturing leads and managing client interactions. Although GoHighLevel has additional features for service management (like automated communications), Kajabi’s strengths lie in its ability to create an engaging user experience for course participants rather than managing client services directly.

Offer better client-based services with GoHighLevel today!

GoHighLevel vs Kajabi: Marketing & Automation

GoHighLevel allows multi-channel marketing & automation, while Kajabi focuses more on email marketing automation.

A) Marketing Tools: GoHighLevel has extensive marketing features while Kajabi offers basic marketing support.

GoHighLevelKajabi
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

During my research, GoHighLevel stood out for its automation-driven marketing approach.

It allows you to scale quickly while automating manual tasks like creating client accounts, creating users and passwords, sending login details to clients, and monitoring billing. The marketing builder is very intuitive and makes it easy for businesses to integrate multiple communication channels into their lead generation process. For example, you can set up SMS/MMS, emails, Facebook Ad Manager, and phone call automation, allowing for multi-channel customer outreach.

Video▶ Watch video (opens YouTube / video provider)

On the other hand, Kajabi offers simple marketing tools like email broadcasts and sequences.

It has an intuitive, user-friendly Email Campaigns builder that has pre-designed templates and options for A/B testing to optimize engagement. You can send one-time email blasts or automate multi-touch sequences based on customer behavior—be it an event announcement, a product showcase, or anything else. You can also make your emails stand out with rich content elements like countdown timers, videos, and personalization.

Compared to GoHighLevel, Kajabi’s email workflows are more linear and lack the advanced capabilities that GoHighLevel’s automation tools offer, making it less flexible for handling diverse audience segments.

Both platforms also allow you to create a white-label mobile app.

With GoHighLevel mobile app builder, you can either include access to your custom app as part of your services or charge an extra fee for it. With Kajabi, customers can download your fully branded app from the App Store or Play Store. This makes it easier for educators to deliver accessible content to their audience across multiple devices.

B) Customer Management: GoHighLevel offers multichannel CRM features while Kajabi supports only student-tutor communication.

GoHighLevelKajabi
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

When it comes to managing customer relationships, GoHighLevel’s CRM features are superior. They seamlessly integrate contact management, segmentation, and multiple communication channels (email, SMS, and calls). This integration allows agencies to interact and support customers at different stages of their journey all in one place.

Video▶ Watch video (opens YouTube / video provider)

Kajabi’s CRM is less advanced — it offers customer management and segmentation that’s mostly centered around email marketing. This makes it a great choice for creatives who need an effective, simple tool to manage their clients. You can also integrate a form into each course, making it easier for students to ask questions, support each other, and communicate with the instructor.

Marketing & Automation Winner: GoHighLevel wins in terms of marketing & automation. It is great for businesses and agencies that require robust, multi-channel marketing capabilities and advanced CRM tools. Kajabi, while strong in email marketing and ideal for course creators, offers fewer automation features and lacks the multi-channel depth that GoHighLevel provides.

Scale your business with GoHighLevel’s marketing funnels today!

GoHighLevel vs Kajabi: Reporting & Analytics

Both platforms offer extensive tools to monitor and manage analytics but they cater to different business needs.

A) Performance Tracking: GoHighLevel offers extensive performance tracking for lead conversion while Kajabi focuses on tracking digital product ROI.

GoHighLevelKajabi
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

In GoHighLevel, I found that performance tracking centered more around lead and conversion analytics.

It has a comprehensive analytics dashboard that allows you to monitor campaign performance in real time, from tracking total conversions and lead sources to measuring engagement on call, SMS, and email campaigns.

These features are useful to businesses with high-volume, multi-channel outreach, like marketing agencies. That’s because it lets them pinpoint which channels are delivering the best conversions. You can also break down your sales funnel by stage, gaining insight into drop-offs and conversion rates along the way — ideal for optimizing complex sales funnels.

Kajabi’s analytics suite is slightly different.

It’s product-specific — it focuses on tracking digital product sales, membership management, and customer engagement, focusing on course engagement, website traffic, and subscription metrics. For instance, Kajabi provides insights on course completion rates and user progress, which is beneficial if you’re running an online education or membership site.

Video▶ Watch video (opens YouTube / video provider)

It also includes revenue tracking across your digital products and content but for call or SMS analytics, for example, you’d have to integrate with third-party tools. GoHighlevel natively includes these analytics.

B) Business Intelligence: GoHighLevel allows custom reporting for multi-client agencies whereas Kajabi offers streamlined business metrics focused on creator products.

GoHighLevelKajabi
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

For custom reporting, GoHighLevel allows you to tailor insights to see specific campaign metrics, like detailed performance for individual leads or ad channels. I found this quite helpful, especially for managing multiple clients and creating segmented reports by client or channel.

This functionality allows for deeper analysis, automation insights, and growth metrics, which are important for making data-driven decisions in a multi-client environment.

On the other hand, Kajabi has a more simplified approach.

It provides a high-level overview of business metrics that are tailored to creators rather than service-based businesses. While Kajabi doesn’t offer as granular custom reporting as GoHighLevel, it gives clear insights into revenue growth from courses, coaching, and digital products.

Winner: GoHighLevel wins when it comes to multi-channel analytics and advanced CRM capabilities. While Kajabi has more streamlined tools for creators with digital products, GoHighLevel provides comprehensive reporting, sales funnel analytics, and multi-client business management tools that agencies and larger businesses can leverage effectively.

GoHighLevel vs Kajabi: Pricing & Plans

Kajabi’s plans are more diverse and affordable, making it suitable for solopreneurs, while GoHighLevel has pricier plans and is best suited for established business owners.

GoHighLevelKajabi
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A) Subscription Plan Overview: GoHighLevel offers two-tiered pricing plans for small and big businesses, whereas Kajabi offers four-tiered flexible pricing plans for creators.

I found GoHighLevel’s pricing much more attractive for agencies or business owners who want to host numerous clients with ease.

The $97/mo Starter Plan is generally best for single business owners or digital marketing agencies that are just getting started.

This plan includes a website and workflow builder, campaign builder, social media calendar, and landing page builder. It also allows for 2-way SMS and email marketing, sales pipeline management, Google reporting, and basic CRM functionality

On the other hand, the $297/mo Unlimited Plan includes all starter features and unlimited sub-accounts.

This allows agencies to manage multiple clients under one account. GoHighLevel offers a 14-day trial period and you’ll need to add your credit card details when you’re signing up.

On GoHighLevel, I had to look out for additional expenses, particularly with Twilio and Mailgun. The platform integrates with Twilio for SMS marketing, which, while powerful, adds up if you’re running multiple high-volume marketing campaigns. Email marketing also requires Mailgun integration, where usage costs can sneak up on you, especially if your campaigns scale quickly.

So, while GoHighLevel’s plans look pretty straightforward, be ready for potential additional fees.

Kajabi’s pricing plans start with a Kickstarter Plan, billed at $69/month, offering basic features that allow you to kickstart the foundation for your business. The plan includes a 0% transaction fee, 50 landing pages, allows you to send up to 1,250 marketing emails, and accommodates one product, 250 contacts, and one website.

The Basic Plan, billed at $149/mo, offers everything in the Kickstarter plan plus unlimited landing pages, unlimited marketing emails, 3 products, 10,000 contacts, and 1 website.

The Growth Plan at $199/mo is a solid choice for creators and educators who want to scale their business. It offers unlimited landing pages and marketing emails, 15 products, 25,000 contacts, and one website.

The Pro Plan, starting at $399/mo when billed annually, offers a comprehensive set of advanced features for scaling a creator-focused business. It includes unlimited landing pages, marketing emails, and up to 100 products and funnels, catering to businesses with a large audience of up to 100,000 contacts and 20,000 active customers across 3 websites.

What surprised me most was that Kajabi lacks many features necessary for running a multi-client setup, which I could easily do with GoHighLevel. If you’re running an agency, GoHighLevel provides better scalability for the cost, but if you’re primarily interested in content creation, Kajabi may justify its price with its specialized tools.

Moreover, Kajabi is relatively transparent with its costs.

However, the pricing plans don’t include applicable taxes, so this is not the final price you’ll pay, which quickly became a downside for me. Similar to GoHighLevel, there’s also the need for external integrations like Zapier if you want to expand Kajabi’s functionality with other software, which can also add up to your monthly fees.

B) Pricing Analysis: GoHighLevel and Kajabi offer different value propositions for business owners and creators.

GoHighLevel’s potential ROI felt higher for me, especially for agency owners.

With its CRM, pipeline management, and sales automation features, I was able to combine several tools into one, which ultimately cut down on my total subscription costs. The white-label feature also added another layer of value, as I could brand the platform as my own and offer it to clients, justifying the cost even further

Video▶ Watch video (opens YouTube / video provider)

Moving on, GoHighLevel had a bit of a learning curve for me, especially during the initial setup.

Customizing domains, integrating Twilio, and setting up email pipelines with Mailgun took some time, and I needed basic knowledge of CRM and automated workflows to make the most of it. That said, once it’s set up, the platform’s functionality becomes incredibly powerful for managing clients at scale. It’s best suited for those familiar with CRM or those who have the capacity to handle the technical setup.

When it comes to customer service, GoHighLevel’s support portal is comprehensive, providing 24/7 assistance via the in-app chat assistant, Zoom support calls, Phone calls, the YouTube channel, and Knowledge Base, which is more helpful for solving specific problems. Based on the user reviews, the users found their support team quite knowledgeable, but some solutions are more DIY-oriented, so it’s helpful to be comfortable navigating “how-to” guides.

In comparison, Kajabi shines in terms of its ROI for content creators.

If you’re selling courses, memberships, or digital downloads, Kajabi’s integrated landing pages and email sequences make it easy to convert leads directly. I found their automation flows well-structured for lead nurturing but less flexible for agencies needing more granular CRM tools.

It was also easy to implement from the start.

The setup process was user-friendly, with guided tutorials that took me through content creation, website building, and automation. If you’re not tech-savvy, some users claim that Kajabi’s interface is far more accessible, making it a better platform to get up and running without significant costs or steep learning requirements.

Kajabi’s support feels more extensive, especially with the Help Center. I could easily search for specific queries and get direct or related answers from the search results. The in-app chat assistant, Kia, was also very helpful for generic queries.

You can also hire an expert, utilize the Kajabi University, attend live webinars, tune into the Creator’s Playbook (a weekly Kajabi podcast), and get real-time support from other creators via the Creators Stories.

For creators who might need more assistance with onboarding or campaign setup, Kajabi’s offers good email support. I found their support team well-versed in troubleshooting issues related to content creation and marketing automation.

Pricing Winner: Kajabi wins when it comes to value for pricing. While GoHighLevel is more optimized for building agency-based sales funnels, Kajabi provides more course-building products and business management tools that creators can take advantage of.
